My Narrative Writing
My Incredible Name
October 31, 2013
This story is all about my incredible name, Jordan. My mom picked my name. I love my mom and she loves me too. She also bought me clothes and other stuff. She said if I was a girl, she will name me Ahofa. I like the name Ahofa. Ahofa means peace in the house. At home my family call me by my nickname. It is Kwame. I got my name because it means I was born on Saturday. I like that I was born on Saturday. I like that my name is Djifanou because it indicates when someone's heart is pained something can calm it down. I feel happy about my last name. In my country, they have name from Monday to Sunday. When you hear the name you will know which day they were born. People butchered my name when I came here. I did not feel happy. They butchered my first and last name. They called me other name. When they did that I felt like I didn't like my name. I didn't enjoy it so I ask them to call me Jordan which is my middle name. Jordan is also in my country. As soon as I said that, they accept with me. So that's how people call me Jordan. I don't think someone else share my name. I don't think that because it is an African name. Also I don't think people share my name because they don't even know how to pronounce it. I am so happy they don't know how to pronounce my name. So that is why I think people won't share my name. My special memory is that I was born on April 16, 2005. I like my last name. Also my nickname indicates I was born on Saturday. Once again, people in my country, we have names from Monday to Sunday. Those are all my special memories.
